Grade A Pallets

This is commonly referred to as a companion stringer block stringer and double stringer.

Grade a pallets.

When acquiring pallets for your warehouse or distribution facility you should become familiar with the different grades of gma pallets. Standard 04 a grade 2 way 48x40 gma style pallet. A grade pallets are more readily available but will have a more worn appearance than a premium a grade. The b grade pallets usually have one or more repaired stringers.

03 pallets may have plate and or corrugate repairs. However not all gma pallets are made the same. The specs on an a grade are more consistent than on a b grade pallet and will never have any block repairs to the stringers. While you can find new grade a plastic pallets at relatively low costs depending on your desired application they will cost more than the b grade version of the same pallet type.

Grade a pallets are suitable for display purposes in grocery stores or markets. Grade a pallets include gma and gma type pallets from hardwood to pine with no block or half runner stringer repairs. A c grade means that a pallet has been repaired numerous times and most of the stringers on a c grade pallet will have companion stringers while the deck boards will be inconsistent in size spacing and thickness. Therefore for small businesses or any organizations that can tolerate some imperfections it may be more beneficial to purchase slightly blemished grade b pallets fulfill your shipping needs.

The overall appearance is also better as a grade pallets are likely to have had shipment fewer. Pallets considered gma pallets regardless of grade are always 48 x 40 with the stringer length always being the 48 length.

Grade b typically this is a used pallet which has had stringer runner damage and has been repaired by attaching an additional runner along side the damaged one. Many recyclers use subdivisions within the category to distinguish between pallets with a cleaner appearance typically composed of hardwood premium a grade 1a or food grade and those that are more worn and often made from pine a grade grade 1b or 1c or melon grade.
